Job summary

Johns Lyng Group is seeking an experienced project supervisor to manage insurance repair and restoration projects across Central Queensland from our Mackay office. The role blends office coordination with regular site visits to oversee subcontractors, timelines and budgets while maintaining clear communication with homeowners, insurers and loss adjusters.

From a background in building trades, you will supervise field activities, review estimates, issue purchase orders, and ensure WHS compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in building, construction or a relevant trade with practical understanding of how building works comes together.
• Clear communication with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders; professional approach.
• Good organisational skills to plan work and manage changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule subcontractors across residential and commercial insurance repair and restoration projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard.
• Conduct regular site visits to review progress and workmanship, obtain and file SWMS, and support WHS compliance.
• Monitor repair timeframes, coordinate sequencing of works and raise issues early to keep projects on track.
• Maintain proactive communication with clients, loss adjusters, and insurers throughout each project and escalate complex matters when required.
• Review estimates, issue purchase orders and monitor project costs and margins.
• Attend weekly construction meetings and WIP reviews, ensuring all job files and documentation are up to date.
