Job summary

DWF is seeking an Associate/Lawyer with up to 2–7 years PQE to join the Insurance Liability team in Australia. Based in Newcastle or Sydney and potentially Melbourne, Brisbane or Adeliade, you will work on complex claims across a diverse portfolio for domestic and international insurer clients.

The role focuses on defendant insurance litigation, drafting pleadings and advisory work, with a supportive team and hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Admitted solicitor with up to 2–7 years PQE.
• Experience in insurance, liability, litigation or dispute resolution desirable.
• Strong communication, drafting and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and advise on Defendant insurance litigation matters.
• Work with domestic and international insurer clients.
• Draft legal advice, pleadings, and court documents.
• Attend mediations, settlement conferences and court appearances.
• Collaborate with a supportive high-performing team.
