Job summary

Suncorp Group is seeking talented Data Analysts to join the Model Activate & Analytics team within Consumer Insurance on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will deliver analytical insights, pricing solutions and predictive modelling to support Motor Insurance profitability and customer outcomes.

You will work with senior analytics and pricing specialists to provide data-driven solutions, translate complex findings for stakeholders and contribute to cross-functional analytics initiatives.

Qualifications

• Degree or higher in a quantitative field (Data Science, Stats, Math, Actuarial, Eng, Econometrics or CS).
• Experience on analytical, modelling or data-focused projects.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Experience using SQL, Python, R or SAS.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Proactive, collaborative team player with a fast-paced, project-based mindset.
• Insurance pricing analytics or financial services exposure is advantageous.
• Exposure to predictive modelling or ML tools (Earnix) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyse large and complex datasets to deliver actionable insights.
• Prepare and model insurance data for analytics and pricing work.
• Develop and maintain statistical and machine learning models using the organisation's infrastructure.
• Design and implement pricing solutions to improve performance.
• Apply market and risk insights to support product decisions.
• Collaborate with Product, Finance, Claims, Actuarial and Analytics teams to solve challenges.
• Translate findings into clear recommendations for non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across analytics, modelling and pricing processes.
