Job summary

St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne is seeking Instrument Technicians to join the Sterile Processing Centre, rotating across decontamination, reprocessing and endoscopy support. You will ensure safe reprocessing of reusable medical devices in line with state and national standards, working within a 24/7 roster.

Applicants should have Certificate III/IV in Sterilisation Services, strong organisational skills, and be able to work collaboratively with clinical and supplier teams.

Qualifications

• Completion of, or enrolment in, a Sterilisation Services certificate program.
• Ability to read and interpret reprocessing procedures and guidelines.
• Strong organisational and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination and high-level disinfection of reusable medical devices.
• Reprocessing of endoscopy equipment and instrument trays.
• Check, test and maintain equipment and resources.
• Packaging and preparation of sterile barrier systems.
• Sterilisation and sterile storage of instruments.
• Maintain accurate documentation in line with procedures.
• Identify, troubleshoot and report variances in processes.
