Job summary

Seymour College is seeking an enthusiastic Middle/Upper Primary Teacher to join our Junior Years team. This permanent position will teach Years 3-6 and commences in Term 1, 2027 with a 1.0 FTE load.

The successful applicant will deliver engaging programs across the primary years, differentiate instruction, and collaborate with colleagues to support wellbeing, curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education (Primary) or equivalent with current registration.
• Experience teaching middle/upper primary students.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues and families.
• Collaborative approach and commitment to professional learning and growth.
• Experience integrating technology to support learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and high-quality learning programs across the primary years curriculum.
• Create learning experiences fostering curiosity, critical thinking, creativity and collaboration.
• Plan, assess and report on student learning in line with College expectations.
• Differentiate teaching to support diverse learning needs and interests.
• Foster a positive, inclusive and productive classroom environment.
• Support student wellbeing through positive relationships with students and families.
• Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Utilise contemporary pedagogical practices and technologies to enhance student learning.
• Contribute to co-curricular programs, camps, excursions and the broader life of the College.
