Job summary

Queensland Government is seeking a Peer Worker (Mental Health) to support adults on an acute inpatient ward in the Wide Bay region. You will provide intentional peer support, model recovery strategies and assist with assessment, intervention and referral.

You will share personal experiences of recovery to educate patients, give information, referrals, and connect them with mental health services and community agencies within an inpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in inpatient mental health settings.
• Ability to educate and refer consumers using personal recovery experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide intentional Peer Support and model recovery strategies for consumers on an acute adult inpatient ward.
• Educate consumers, provide information and referrals, leveraging personal recovery experience within an inpatient setting.
