Job summary

Camden Council is seeking an Injury Management Adviser to lead injury prevention and recovery initiatives, based at the works depot. You’ll manage workers’ compensation claims end-to-end and develop tailored Recover at Work Plans in collaboration with stakeholders to support safe and sustainable return to work.

Role requires Return to Work Coordinator qualifications and current registration with a relevant body, plus strong regulatory knowledge and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

  • Return to Work Coordinator qualifications and current unrestricted membership with a relevant professional body (AHPRA, ESSA, ASORC/RCAA, or AASW), supported by on-the-job experience in injury management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing workers’ compensation claims, developing Recover at Work plans, and collaborating with a range of stakeholders to support safe and sustainable return to work outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of relevant regulatory and legislative frameworks, with the ability to educate others and ensure compliance at the local level.
  • Proven ability to align injury management strategies with broader organisational goals, working effectively across teams and disciplines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-focused approach to building relationships and influencing outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate care and support for workplace injuries and illnesses.
  • Develop and manage Recover at Work Plans in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Oversee the end-to-end injury management process, including workers’ compensation claims.
  • Deliver expert advice on injury prevention and early intervention strategies.
  • Collaborate with WHS teams to identify hazards and improve occupational health.
  • Maintain accurate records and analyse injury data to inform future strategies.
  • Support people leaders in building their capability to manage injured workers effectively

SALARY: $99,839 – 114,434 pa + super + leaseback vehicle

Work Type:Permanent Full Time

About the role

This position is your opportunity to be at the forefront ofinjury prevention and recovery. Based at our works depot, you’ll provideimmediate support to injured workers, develop tailored Recover at Work Plans,and manage workers’ compensation claims from start to finish. You’ll also playa key role in promoting workplace safety and supporting employees withnon-work-related injuries.

You’ll work closely with employees, healthcare providers,and managers to ensure a smooth and sustainable return to work process, whilealso contributing to injury prevention strategies and training initiatives.
