Job summary

BMD Group in Brisbane is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to design, build and support IT infrastructure across on-premise and cloud environments. You will implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible or Bicep and collaborate with remote teams to ensure scalable, secure systems.

You will monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, enforce security practices, and work with DevOps, security and development teams to optimise infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of on-premise and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Bicep).
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM, Hyper‑V).
  • Familiarity with network protocols, firewalls, and security best practices.
  • Experience working with remote teams and using remote collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Zoom, Microsoft Teams).

  • Participate in regular virtual meetings and use collaboration tools to stay connected with the team.

About The Role

The Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, managing, and supporting the IT infrastructure that underpins all internal and external services. This role requires a deep understanding of both on-premises and cloud environments, as well as expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices. The successful candidate will also have experience working effectively with remote teams.

The Successful Candidate Will Be An Experienced Self-starter With
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of on-premise and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Bicep).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
