Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is recruiting a Manager or Senior Manager based in Australia to lead complex ORM and ERM engagements end-to-end. You will design integrated risk frameworks, identify principal risks, and mentor junior staff while delivering tangible outcomes for clients across various industries.

With a hands-on culture and global reach, this role requires strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, risk management, engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years' experience across operational and enterprise risk management, in internal audit or consulting.
• Hands-on ownership of a risk framework or components—taxonomy, registers, appetite, KRIs and control libraries.
• Experience running RCSAs and testing design and operating effectiveness of controls.
• Experience with risk appetite statements, principal and emerging risk assessments, and board-level reporting.
• Working knowledge of ISO 31000 and other operational resilience regimes.
• Professional certification such as ERM or ISO 31000 in progress is a plus.
• Strong communication skills to engage with risk committees, regulators, and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of complex operational risk (ORM) and enterprise risk management (ERM) engagements end-to-end, including framework design, risk assessment, control testing and remediation.
• Design and embed integrated risk frameworks linking principal risks to taxonomy, process and control libraries, and risk registers.
• Lead top-down enterprise risk identification across strategic, financial, regulatory and technology dimensions.
• Lead and deliver Safety Culture assessments, HSE management system reviews, leadership training and coaching.
• Develop risk appetite statements and cascade into tolerances, KRIs, thresholds and escalation protocols.
• Facilitate RCSA workshops with process owners, challenge risk ratings and confirm controls mapping.
• Assess design and operating effectiveness of controls, identify gaps and remediation plans with clients.
• Strengthen risk governance and reporting to executive and board levels.
