Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) Australia seeks a Director/Senior Director to lead ORM and ERM engagements from Australia. You will design integrated risk frameworks, connect principal risks to taxonomies and risk registers, and guide board-level risk discussions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, risk management, engineering, or related major.
• 10+ years of proven experience across operational and enterprise risk management, gained in the first or second line, in internal audit, or in consulting.
• Track record of owning enterprise-wide risk frameworks end to end - taxonomy, registers, appetite, KRIs, control libraries and board reporting.
• Deep experience of operational risk disciplines - RCSA, control design and effectiveness testing, loss and event data, scenario analysis and remediation.
• Experience advising on operational resilience, business continuity and third party risk.
• Working knowledge of ISO 31000, ISO 17776 and other operational resilience regimes.
• Ideally prior experience in consulting firms with business development capabilities.
• Professional certification such as an ERM or ISO 31000 qualification.
• Credibility with boards, risk and audit committees, regulators, and second and third line functions.
• Availability for travel.
• Ability to facilitate analyses to guide delivery, propose action plans and make confident decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of complex Operational Risk Management (ORM) and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) work fronts with expertise, identifying improvement initiatives and engaging with the client in all engagement phases.
• Own the design and implementation of integrated risk frameworks linking principal enterprise risks to operational risk taxonomy and risk registers.
• Lead board and executive risk discussions, setting risk appetite and cascading into tolerances and escalation protocols.
• Provide senior oversight across risk programs, testing, data, scenario analysis and remediation while ensuring quality of conclusions.
• Develop and deliver Safety Culture assessments, HSE reviews, leadership training and coaching.
• Advise on risk governance, resilience, and third-party risk management across the three lines of defense.
• Act as engagement quality reviewer and safeguard objectivity and adherence to professional standards.
• Lead meetings with client and A&M leadership, including risk and audit committees.
