Job summary

Swinburne University of Technology is seeking an Information and Data Governance Officer to support effective information management and governance across the University. The role works with the Manager, Information and Data and the Associate Director to ensure data is managed securely and compliantly throughout its lifecycle.

You will help staff implement best-practice processes, support governance across Microsoft 365 platforms, and build strong information structures, controls and access

Qualifications

• Experience applying data governance, privacy and security in practical contexts.
• Provide guidance on site, library, folder and metadata structures; permissions and ownership.
• Support data governance standards and data access approvals.

Responsibilities

• Support digital information management across SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams.
• Provide guidance on metadata, permissions, sharing and versioning.
• Assist Data Stewards with data access approvals and glossary management.
• Manage end-to-end information lifecycle from creation to disposal.
• Ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
