Job summary

UTS seeks an Industry Professor in the School of Computer Science to provide academic, research and professional leadership in machine learning. The role drives collaboration with industry and government to secure funding and deliver high-impact projects on a continuing basis.

The candidate will lead multi-disciplinary teams, develop research capabilities, and foster external partnerships to advance applied ML research and social impact within the school and centre.

Qualifications

• Impact-driven machine learning research with demonstrated success.
• Proven experience leading a multi-disciplinary team.
• PhD or extensive industry experience in computer science.
• Ability to create funding opportunities through national and international collaborations.
• Experience in managing risk, budget and cost for projects.
• Experience delivering prototypes for business partners.
• Strong applied research background.
• Experience attracting and managing research projects to completion.
