Job summary

Australian Industrial PTY LTD in Campbellfield, Melbourne, is seeking an experienced Industrial Refrigeration Mechanic for a full-time, on-site role delivering service, maintenance and breakdown work across client sites.

You will hold a Refrigeration & Air Conditioning trade qualification with at least 2 years of industrial experience, current ARCtick RAC, and be willing to travel. The role includes on-call responsibilities and a company vehicle.

Qualifications

• Formal Refrigeration & Air Conditioning trade qualification.
• ARCtick RAC licence and high-risk licences.
• Current Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
• 2+ years industrial refrigeration experience.
• Experience with ammonia, CO₂, screw & reciprocating compressors, and glycol/brine loops.
• Experience with field service management software (SIMPRO preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform service, maintenance, fault-finding and breakdown work on industrial refrigeration systems.
• Replace and install refrigeration/air conditioning components as required.
• Identify opportunities for repairs, upgrades or follow-on quotes during visits.
• Maintain detailed records of all work undertaken.
• Communicate progress, issues, delays and risks to management.
• Manage parts requirements, ordering and supplier liaison.
• Participate in rotating on-call roster for breakdowns.
• Ensure all work complies with regulations, safety standards and company expectations.

Job description

We're seeking an experienced and motivated Industrial Refrigeration Mechanic to join our team in Campbellfield, Melbourne. This full-time role sees you delivering high-quality service, maintenance, and breakdown work on industrial refrigeration systems across a range of client sites. You will report to the Service & Operations Manager and operate within a supported team to deliver safe, compliant outcomes on time and within scope.

What you'll be doing

• Execute service, maintenance, fault-finding, and breakdown works on industrial refrigeration systems
• Replace and install new refrigeration and air conditioning components as required
• Identify and develop additional work opportunities arising from programmed maintenance visits and service calls, including scope for repairs, upgrades, or follow-on quoted work
• Maintain detailed records of all work undertaken
• Maintain clear communication with management regarding work progress, issues, delays, and risks
• Manage parts requirements, ordering, and supplier liaison efficiently
• Participate in a regular, rotating on-call roster responding to breakdowns within required timeframes
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with relevant regulations, safety standards and company expectations

What we’re looking for

• Formal trade qualification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning with a minimum of 2 years qualified industrial refrigeration experience
• Current ARCtick licence (RAC), applicable high-risk work licences, current Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel to client sites
• Hands-on experience with industrial refrigeration systems, including ammonia, CO₂, screw and reciprocating compressors, pumped and flooded recirculation systems, evaporative condensers, and glycol/brine secondary loops
• Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot faults efficiently
• Experience using field service management software (simPRO experience highly regarded)
• Understanding of PLC-based plant controls highly regarded, but not essential
• Disciplined approach to documentation, reporting, and scope compliance
• Clear communicator and team player
