Job summary

Gemco Rail Pty Ltd. is seeking an experienced Industrial Painter & Blaster for a full-time role at our Rockhampton, QLD site. You will perform sandblasting, surface preparation, and industrial painting using 2K systems, ensuring coatings meet specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, following safety practices, and coordinating with other trades to meet project deadlines. Pre-employment checks apply, with a view to a stable, long-term position.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years industrial spray painting and blasting experience.
• Ability to calculate figures, proportions, areas and volumes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is desirable.
• LEAN mindset and collaborative teamwork encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Follow paint specifications and documentation accurately.
• Apply protective coatings using conventional and airless methods with consistent quality.
• Prepare and mix paints and other substances for application.
• Mix and colour-match paints to meet job specs.
• Perform touch-ups and blend defects.
• Collaborate with other trades to meet deadlines.
