Job summary

Wildlife Information Rescue And Education Service – Brookvale NSW is seeking an Individual Giving Specialist to develop, craft and deliver appeals and a donor retention schedule. This full‑time 12‑month fixed term contract requires hands‑on fundraising copywriting, end‑to‑end campaign production and delivery, with a hybrid working arrangement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years relevant fundraising experience.
• Tertiary qualifications in fundraising, marketing, communications or similar.
• Demonstrated ability to increase revenue or achieve fundraising targets.
• Experience with reporting and using insights to make data‑driven decisions.
• Demonstrated experience managing expenditure budgets.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Committed to prompt, high‑quality donor service.
• Understanding of the importance of data integrity and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write and deliver compelling fundraising appeals and donor communications.
• Project manage campaigns end-to-end (from concept to delivery).
• Manage direct mail requirements for all donors and prospects, including supporter updates.
• Work closely with the broader team to develop and execute initiatives to improve donor acquisition, engagement and retention.
• Work closely with the fundraising and marketing team to leverage appeal content and communications across all channels.
• Craft donor‑focused communications that inspire donor engagement with compelling calls to action.
• Develop comprehensive internal and external briefs for data segmentation, graphic design and mail house fulfilment.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers to ensure services provided are delivered as agreed.
• Manage and report on Individual Giving Program income and expenditure, ensuring growth targets are achieved.

We’re looking for an Individual Giving Specialist to develop, craft and deliver our appeals and donor retention schedule. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong fundraising copywriting skills, the ability to personally develop compelling campaign content, alongside managing the production and delivery of campaigns.

For more than 40 years, WIRES has provided lifesaving rescue and care to injured, orphaned and displaced native animals. Our mission is to actively preserve Australian wildlife and inspire others to do the same. Today, our 24/7 Emergency Rescue Service responds to more than 170,000 native animals in need every year.

About the Role

The Individual Giving Specialist's role is focused on growing the Individual Giving Programs to maximise donor acquisition, engagement and retention, to increase the organisation's long‑term capacity to rescue, rehabilitate and preserve more wildlife.

We are seeking a hands‑on candidate that thrives on managing all aspects of appeals, writing compelling copy and working on several campaigns simultaneously. Our ideal candidate is proactive, positive, and enjoys working both independently and collaboratively.

This is a 12-month full‑time contract with potential extension for the right candidate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, write and deliver compelling fundraising appeals and donor communications,
