Job summary

Brisbane Youth Service seeks a Youth Housing Specialist to provide brief intervention and ongoing support to young people, including BYS tenants, to help them transition to independent living. You will assess needs, build trust with young people and families, and advocate for housing stability within a community housing framework.

Qualifications

• Hold a tertiary qualification in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Social Sciences or comparable qualification.
• Experience working holistically with young people, including intervention and ongoing support.
• Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with young people and young families.
• Experience conducting thorough assessments, including suicide and DFV risk assessments.
• Understanding of community housing provider responsibilities under the National Regulatory System of Community Housing (NRSCH).
• Strong organisational skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication and advocacy skills.
