Job summary

TAFE NSW is seeking an Aboriginal Student Support Officer (Identified) based at Campbelltown Campus with travel to other campuses across Western Sydney. The role focuses on culturally safe support to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students stay engaged, progress, and complete their studies.

You will build strong relationships with students, faculties and services, coordinate referrals, monitor progress, and ensure timely access to support and resources.

Qualifications

• Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and is required.
• Certificate IV in relevant area or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience in administration support services.
• Class C driver’s licence with capacity to travel for TAFE NSW business as required.
• Working with Children Check is required prior to commencement.

Responsibilities

• Provide culturally safe, practical support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to stay engaged and complete studies.
• Act as a link between students, faculties and support services to coordinate referrals and monitor progress.
• Build trusted relationships and connect students with educational, wellbeing and community services.
• Travel to Campbelltown Campus and other campuses across Western Sydney, South West Sydney and the Blue Mountains as needed.
