Job summary

TAFE NSW External in Campbelltown is seeking an Aboriginal Student Support Officer (Identified) for Dharawal Country. The role focuses on culturally safe, practical support to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students stay engaged, progress and complete their studies.

You will coordinate referrals, monitor progress, build trusted relationships with students, faculties and service providers, and travel across Western Sydney campuses.

Qualifications

• Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and is required for this role.
• Certificate IV in relevant area or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience in administration support services.
• Class C driver’s licence with the capacity to travel for TAFE NSW business purposes as required.
• Working with Children Check is required prior to commencement.

Responsibilities

• Provide culturally safe, practical support to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students stay engaged, progress and complete studies.
• Act as a link between students, faculties and support services to coordinate referrals and monitor progress.
• Travel to other campuses across Western Sydney, South West Sydney and the Blue Mountains to support students.
• Maintain accurate records and coordinate support actions using Microsoft 365 and internal systems.
