Job summary

University of Sydney is seeking a senior leader to drive Indigenous employment and engagement strategies across the university, strengthening attraction, retention, and wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff. You will lead programs, networks and initiatives that foster a culturally safe, inclusive workplace and partner with stakeholders to achieve workforce goals.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering diversity and Indigenous employment outcomes.
• Strong understanding of strategic HR and industrial relations frameworks.
• Demonstrated expertise in Indigenous employment, cultural competence, and workforce development.
• Proven ability to build and influence relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Leadership and budgeting experience with governance controls.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and data-informed decision making.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of Indigenous employment and engagement programs and staff networks.
• Drive recruitment, retention, career development and leadership pathways for Indigenous staff.
• Develop, monitor and report workforce metrics to inform decisions and measure progress.
• Provide expert advice on Indigenous employment, inclusion, and policy impact.
• Build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to support initiatives.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team, manage projects and budgets.
