Job summary

Danila Dilba Health Service in Darwin is seeking two Community Education and Engagement Officers to deliver smoking cessation programs and health messages to Indigenous communities. The role involves outreach in clinics and community settings within the Darwin region.

You will work with the CEET team, promoting healthy lifestyle modules, school and event-based health education, while building partnerships with staff and external agencies.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated strong organisational skills to plan, manage and prioritise tasks within time and budget constraints.
• Sound presentation skills and confidence to speak to groups.
• Ability to interact respectfully with Aboriginal people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Responsibilities

• Deliver smoking cessation programs and Population Health Education to Indigenous people in Darwin.
• Contribute to Deadly Choices health promotion in schools, academies, bush camps and community events.
• Engage with school staff, health professionals and external agencies to promote health messages.
