Job summary

Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd in Queensland is seeking a dedicated Respite Support Worker to deliver a program of respite services for elderly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, aligned with Client Care Plans. You will develop work plans, engage with clients per plans, help them build independence, and promote community participation, safety in personal care, and well-being.

Qualifications

• Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD) required.
• Criminal History Check required.
• Disability Worker Screening Check (Qld Yellow Card) required.
• First Aid and CPR Certificate required.
• Minimum Certificate in Aged Care or relevant qualifications required.

Responsibilities

• Develop a Work Plan detailing steps to support respite services for clients.
• Work actively with clients in line with Client Care Plans.
• Develop programs to build skills for independence and community participation.
• Encourage clients to develop personal, community and social relationships.
• Support independence and safety in personal care and health tasks.
