Precruitment - Recruitment Agency Cairns & Brisbane – Smithfield SA is seeking an experienced Cook for a permanent, full-time role in Smithfield, QLD 4878. You will prepare, season and cook a variety of Indian dishes, follow recipes, maintain food safety standards and contribute to kitchen operations and catering events.

The ideal candidate has a Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery and at least one year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• The role requires a formal Commercial Cookery qualification (Certificate III or IV or higher).
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience in a kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a wide range of Indian dishes following recipes and maintaining quality.
• Manage kitchen operations, ordering supplies, keep a clean, organized workspace, and maintain equipment.
• Assist with menu planning, development, and catering events.
• Ensure food safety and hygiene compliance.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient preparation and service.
• Supervise and train kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and safety.
• Monitor dish quality from preparation to presentation.
• Implement programs to reduce food waste and ensure proper storage.
• Follow safe manual handling practices.
