Job summary

The ACT Government’s CMTEDD invites an Independent Member to join the Audit and Risk Committee in a part-time, temporary capacity based in Canberra. The role provides oversight of governance, risk, internal and external audit, compliance and assurance, with opportunities to influence public sector financial reporting and related controls.

Qualifications

• Experience in financial management and reporting, including public sector financial statements.
• Senior-level knowledge in governance, risk management, and internal/external audit.
• Knowledge of IT/cyber security, fraud prevention and assurance practices.
• Commitment to independent, unbiased governance with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for and actively participate in Committee meetings.
• Review papers and minutes, and support governance and assurance activities.
• Ensure compliance with Charter and Terms of Reference.
• Contribute to Committee deliberations and annual performance review.
• Maintain independence and manage conflicts of interest.
