Mount Alexander Shire Council is seeking an Independent Member to join the Audit and Risk Committee under the Local Government Act 2020. The role supports oversight of financial reporting, risk management and internal controls, with an initial term of three years and a standing invitation for reappointment.

The Committee comprises four independents plus the Mayor and a Councillor; meetings occur four times yearly at the Civic Centre, Castlemaine.

Qualifikationen

• Hold a relevant degree qualification and/or demonstrate experience in at least four of the following areas.

• Provide independent oversight on financial and performance reporting, risk management and internal controls.
• Review and advise on compliance with policies and legal obligations.
• Attend meetings four times a year and contribute to Audit and Risk Committee deliberations.
