Job summary

Alpine Shire Council is seeking an Independent Audit & Risk Committee Member to provide assurance on financial and performance audit, risk management, governance and compliance. The appointee will bring objectivity, strong analytical skills and prudent judgment to committee deliberations.

We welcome candidates with risk management expertise and experience in public sector or not-for-profit contexts. Flexible arrangements may be discussed; remuneration details are provided in the information pack.

Qualifications

• Experience in public sector management or not-for-profit sector is preferred.
• Ability to provide specialist knowledge in risk management, audit, governance and financial management.
• Previous committee or board experience is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Attend Audit & Risk Committee meetings in person.
• Provide independent, objective oversight on risk, governance and financial matters.
