Job summary

Special Olympics Australia - National Office – Queensland is seeking a Queensland Special Olympics - Sports Manager to help plan and coordinate sport activities within the Sub-Program. You will assist with schedules, events and training opportunities, and support coaches and volunteers to deliver safe, inclusive activities.

The role emphasises collaboration with SOA staff, governance compliance, and ongoing contribution to committee decisions, with a focus on safeguarding, finance and risk

Qualifications

• Experience organising activities, programs or events.
• Strong organisational skills to coordinate sport delivery activities.
• Comfortable using digital tools to share schedules, updates and information.
• Commitment to the values, purpose and inclusive mission of Special Olympics Australia.
• Willingness to understand and comply with SOA policies, including safeguarding, integrity, conduct, finance and risk requirements.
• Ability to contribute constructively to collective, committee-based decision-making.
• Sound judgement and ability to act in the best interests of athletes and the organisation.
• Respectful interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to engage with athletes, families, volunteers and SOA staff.
• Willingness to undertake required induction, training and ongoing learning relevant to the role.

Responsibilities

• Help plan and coordinate sport activities within the Sub-Program.
