Job summary

NSW Department of Education seeks a School Learning Support Officer (SLSO) to assist students with diverse learning needs at Thomas Reddall High School in Ambarvale. You will work under the direction of teachers to support learning, wellbeing, and inclusive participation.

You will contribute to a safe, engaging classroom, assist with personal care, health needs, and behavior, and collaborate with the school team to ensure meaningful outcomes for students.

Qualifications

• Working with Children Check Clearance is required.
• Completion of mandatory training by the Department of Education and willingness to undertake first aid training.
• Administration of medications – training to be provided based on student needs.
• Health support training to be provided based on student needs.

Responsibilities

• Support Inclusive Education students to access learning and participate in school life under teacher direction.
• Provide targeted assistance with learning, communication, wellbeing, personal care and behaviour as required.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team to implement adjustments and build an inclusive, safe learning environment.
