Job summary

St Mary's Catholic Primary School, Orange, NSW, is seeking a dedicated Diverse Learning Teacher (Primary) to join its supportive, faith-based community. The role involves coordinating inclusive education plans, data-driven interventions, and collaboration with staff, families, and external professionals to support every student to achieve their personal best.

Qualifications

• Hold relevant tertiary teaching qualifications, current NESA registration, and accreditation to teach in a Catholic school, or a willingness to obtain it.
• Knowledge of inclusive education principles, disability legislation, and the NCCD data framework.
• Experience developing and implementing Personalised Plans, differentiated teaching strategies, and evidence-based literacy or numeracy interventions.
• Capacity to analyse student data and use it to plan adjustments, monitor progress, and improve learning outcomes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, families, and external professionals.
• Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education, with a compassionate, organised, collaborative, and student-centred approach.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate identification and support of students with additional needs, including Personalised Plans and NCCD documentation.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement interventions and Universal Design for Learning approaches.
• Use assessment data, observations, and input to identify learning needs and monitor progress.
• Coordinate referrals, specialist assessments, and SWAN Funding applications with families and professionals.
• Develop Learning Support Officer timetables and guidance to align with identified needs and funded programs.
• Support RTI and MTSS implementation, including targeted literacy and numeracy instruction.
• Ensure safe transitions for students with additional needs and maintain risk assessments where required.
