Job summary

St Mary’s CPS, Orange, NSW, invites applications for a Diverse Learning Teacher (Primary) to support students with additional needs within an inclusive, faith-based setting. The role focuses on personalised plans, differentiated teaching, and evidence-based interventions in literacy and numeracy.

You will work with families, staff and external professionals to monitor progress, plan adjustments, and coordinate referrals while aligning with MTSS and NCCD requirements.

Qualifications

• Hold relevant tertiary teaching qualifications, current NESA registration, and accreditation to teach in a Catholic school, or a willingness to obtain it.
• Demonstrated knowledge of inclusive education principles, disability legislation, and the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data framework.
• Experience developing and implementing Personalised Plans, differentiated teaching strategies, and evidence-based literacy or numeracy interventions.
• Capacity to analyse student data and use it to plan adjustments, monitor progress, and improve learning outcomes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, families, and external professionals.
• Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education, with a compassionate, organised, collaborative, and student-centred approach.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating identification and support of students with additional needs, including the development, review, and maintenance of Personalised Plans and NCCD documentation.
• Collaborating with classroom teachers to implement effective adjustments, evidence-based interventions, and Universal Design for Learning approaches.
• Using assessment data, classroom observations, and teacher input to identify learning needs and monitor student progress.
• Coordinating referrals, specialist assessments, and SWAN Funding applications in partnership with families, school leaders, and relevant professionals.
• Developing Learning Support Officer timetables and providing guidance to ensure support aligns with identified student needs and funded programs.
• Supporting the implementation of Response to Intervention and Multi Tiered System of Supports, including targeted literacy and numeracy instruction.
• Supporting safe and successful transitions for students with additional needs and maintaining risk assessments where required.
