Job summary

Willard R-2 School District is seeking an hourly instructional aide to support students with tasks from other classes while ensuring a structured environment. Candidates should be able to handle multiple tasks, maintain confidentiality, and work under deadlines to support student success.

The position requires 60 college hours or MO Paraprofessional Test, plus excellent communication skills and prior instructional aide experience. Reports to building administrator and works 180 days per year.

Qualifications

• 60 college hours or passing MO Paraprofessional Test.
• Excellent written, oral, organizational, time management and communication skills.
• Experience related to instructional aide role.
• Ability to multi-task and take direction.

Responsibilities

• Participates as an effective team member across settings to promote collaboration for student success by carrying out team decisions as assigned.
• Contributes relevant information and assists with planning, problem solving and decision making.
• Assists with the preparation of instructional/learning resources.
• Performs support tasks to enhance the effectiveness of the learning environment.
• Participates in professional growth opportunities as required.
• Supervise students in the cafeteria or as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality in all matters pertaining to students, parents, parent communications and/or classroom activities.
• Carries out work responsibilities effectively under pressure of deadlines, difficult situations, interruptions and new or emergency situations.
• Performs routine instructional and non-instructional support tasks, including clerical duties and use of adaptive/assistive equipment or technology.
• Meets applicable district physical ability as well as health and safety guidelines for the position.
• Demonstrates respect for students, staff and parents in all situations.
