Job summary

Corvallis School District is seeking a dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional to support instructional staff in delivering IEP-based materials and activities. You will tutor students, supervise classroom and field activities, assist with testing, and help maintain records in a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications include two years of college and an associate degree or higher, plus experience with children, preferably with special needs.

Qualifications

• Completion of at least two years of college; associate or higher degree preferred.
• Ability to assist in reading, writing, and math instruction.
• One year of paid or volunteer experience with children in educational settings, preferably with special needs.
• Knowledge of child growth, development, and behavior in special education.
• Capable of following IEP-related instructions and classroom routines.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructional staff in developing various instructional materials.
• Support presentation and practice of learning activities per student's IEP.
• Tutor students individually or in small groups.
• Monitor and assist students during drills, practice, and study activities.
• Supervise special education students in classroom, trips, playground, and bus duty.
• Read aloud to students, explain words, and provide learning examples.
• Assist in student hygiene and behavior management with positive reinforcement.
• Maintain reports, records, and general clerical duties.
• Help maintain a neat, orderly learning environment and bulletin boards.
