Job summary

Westgold Resources Limited in Perth is seeking a commercially focused Legal Counsel to join our Perth Head Office. You will provide strategic legal advice across procurement, commercial, operations and projects, partnering with stakeholders to enable safe, compliant business growth.

The role offers exposure to construction, contractor engagement, governance and compliance, with responsibilities including negotiating commercial contracts, managing external advisers and supporting risk management

Qualifications

5–8 years post admission experience.
Bachelor of Laws with current unrestricted practising certificate.
Contracts and procurement experience.
Excellent drafting, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

Responsibilities

Provide timely, practical and commercially focused legal advice across the business.
Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements and contracts.
Support procurement activities through review and negotiation of procurement and supply agreements.
Advise on construction, project development and contractor engagement matters.
Assist with contract management, claims, disputes and risk mitigation strategies.
Support governance, compliance and corporate legal obligations.
Monitor and advise on legal and regulatory developments impacting the business.
Manage external legal advisers where required.
Develop strong working relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
Contribute to legal process improvements, policies and training initiatives.
