Job summary

Right at Home in Melbourne is seeking a dedicated Male Personal Care Assistant to support clients in their homes with daily living activities, companionship, and independent living. This role focuses on dignity, safety, and respectful care, with an emphasis on non-medical support across the Northern Suburbs community.

The ideal candidate brings relevant PCA experience, valid First Aid/CPR, and a current Working with Children check.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in individual support completed.
• Working with children check completed or in progress.
• Current First Aid and CPR certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
• Provide light housekeeping such as laundry, dishes, and tidying up living areas.
• Prepare and serve meals according to clients' dietary needs and preferences.
• Support clients with medication reminders.
• Offer companionship and emotional support.
• Assist with errands and transportation to appointments using own vehicle where required.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care provided.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and the care team.
• Monitor and report changes in clients’ condition to the care team or supervisor.
• Follow individualised care plans and organisational policies at all times.
• Promote client safety, wellbeing and infection control practices.
