Job summary

Nextt is seeking a compassionate Female Disability Support Worker to provide in-home, person-centred support to a participant with complex needs in East Maitland.

Qualifications

• NDIS Worker Screening Check and any applicable state Yellow Card.
• Working with Children Check / Blue Card as applicable.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
• Completed NDIS Orientation Module – Quality, Safety and You.
• Current valid driver’s licence.
• Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
• Relevant disability support experience.

Responsibilities

• Personal care: Showering, dressing, grooming and hygiene assistance.
• Hoist transfers: Two-person transfers using ceiling hoists and slings.
• Repositioning and pressure care: Safe positioning and pressure care procedures.
• Mealtime assistance: Support with eating and drinking as required.
• Medication administration: Administering medications per procedures.
• Suprapubic catheter care: Participant-specific training available.
• Complex care awareness: Recognise autonomic dysreflexia and BP checks.
• Wound care awareness: Replace outer wound dressings when required.
• Behaviour support: Follow Behaviour Support Plan with trauma-informed approach.
