Job summary

Bayside Health is seeking an Improvement Project Officer to deliver improvement projects and local quality improvements at The Alfred and associated sites. You will collect and analyse data, work with diverse stakeholders, and develop and test sustainable solutions to improve patient care and operational efficiency.

Bayside Health is a public health service delivering high-quality care across every stage of life for close to 1.2 million people living in metropolitan Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula, Koo Wee Rup, Bass Coast and Southern Gippsland. The Department

The Operations Division governs and directs the work of Alfred Care Group’s clinical Programs and oversees the work of more than 9000 employees. The Division is led by the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Deputy Chief Operating Officer (DCOO), and governs clinical and operational activity at The Alfred, Caulfield Hospital, Sandringham Hospital, Melbourne Sexual Health Centre and a number of smaller offsite clinical services. Supporting the work on the clinical Programs and the Care Group Services more broadly, is a centralised team of project and innovation roles.

The Role

The Improvement Project Officer will be responsible for the delivery of improvement projects and local quality improvements. Successful implementation of these projects will involve collecting and analysing data, working with diverse stakeholder groups, developing and testing sustainable solutions, and implementing and monitoring changes.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Previous leadership of/involvement in a service improvement project
• Skills in Microsoft Teams, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
• Strong stakeholder engagement and change management skills
• Exposure to and understanding of improvement methodology in health care, such as IHI, lean, six sigma and continuous improvement methodology
• Experience working with diverse stakeholders and influencing others
• Experience collecting, analysing and presenting data
