Job summary

Austin Health in Heidelberg, Melbourne, seeks a Social Work Clinical Educator to support the Mental Health Social Work Graduate Program, coordinate student placements, and develop education opportunities for the broader workforce.

A regular day involves ensuring evidence-based practice, building cross-service relationships, and leading a positive learning culture for graduates and clinicians across mental health services.

Qualifications

• This role requires an accredited degree eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
• 7 years post-qualification with extensive experience in public mental health.
• Well-developed knowledge of adult, child and adolescent mental health systems.
• Experience designing and delivering learning and development programs in Social Work or Mental Health.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Social Work student placements and create meaningful education, learning and development opportunities for the broader Mental Health Social Work workforce.
• Ensure that social work practice is evidence-based, consumer/carer-focused, and aligned with standards.
• Build relationships across services and with stakeholders to identify workforce learning needs and develop practical strategies.
• Lead and contribute to a positive learning culture for graduates, students and experienced clinicians.
