Job summary

Donald High School in Victoria is seeking an experienced classroom teacher to plan, prepare and teach programs aimed at specific student outcomes. The role involves critical reflection and inquiry to improve knowledge and engage students beyond the classroom.

Range 1 and Range 2 classifications reflect different levels of responsibility, including mentoring, policy input and using student data to raise learning outcomes. Willingness to undertake co-curricular duties is expected.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including literacy and numeracy.
• Experience in planning high-impact teaching strategies and evaluating their impact on student learning.
• Experience in monitoring and assessing student learning.
• Experience using data to inform teaching and providing feedback on student growth to students and parents.
• Interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience establishing collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community.
• Behaviours and attitudes aligned with Department values; commitment to ongoing professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
• Contributing to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum programs.
• Undertaking other classroom-teaching duties as directed by the Principal.
• Participating in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
