Job summary

Care Dorset Limited is seeking a Care and Community Services Officer to help people live as independently and meaningfully as possible across day centres, residential homes, and community settings. You will support care planning, assessments, and direct personal care to service users.

Experience in a similar role, NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, safeguarding knowledge, and good communication and IT skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role within a care home or similar environment.
• Knowledge of care planning process obtained in a similar environment.
• Current medication training and experience.
• Experience of understanding and applying anti-discriminatory practice.
• Understanding of Safeguarding Adults policy and procedures

Responsibilities

• Support the Deputy Manager in delivering services in a day centre, residential care home or community setting.
• Undertake assessment of service users' needs with involvement of families and other professionals as appropriate.
• Develop, implement and review care plans.
• Supervise individual and group programmes and staff/volunteers.
• Maintain service user records and contribute to establishment records.
• Provide personal care including toileting, washing and administration of medication.
