Job summary

Care Dorset Limited is seeking an enthusiastic activity coordinator to support the delivery of a range of activities in residential and day care settings. You will help run individual and group programmes, contribute to care plans, and assist with personal care when needed.

The role involves organising activities reflective of residents' wishes, supporting volunteers, and maintaining records. A proactive, compassionate approach is essential, with opportunities for training and progression.

Qualifications

• Good awareness of legislation
• Basic knowledge of health and safety

• Some experience of working in a caring or community setting
• Experience of planning and organising activities
• Good written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

• Support the Manager and care staff in arranging and delivering activities to various service user groups in residential or day care settings

Job description

Provide a range of activities providing support and opportunities to enhance and maintainthe independence of service users.

Responsibilities and accountabilities

• Support the Manager and care Staff in the arranging and delivery of activities to a varietyof service user groups within a residential or day care setting.Develop activities which reflect service users wishes and their needs as assessed by careStaff in order to meet aims and objectives as outlined in care plans.
• Run and supervise individual and group activity programmes.
• Maintain service user records and contribute to other establishment records, as required.
• Provide personal care to service users, as required.
• Undertake the direction of volunteers.
• Contribute to the development and review of individual care plans to meet service users’needs for social and mental stimulation.
• In conjunction with the Manager organise and arrange group and individual activityprogrammes, and to undertake risk assessments in relation to all planned activities.
• Participate in staff meetings and undertake training.
• Undertake any other duties of a lesser or comparable nature, as required.
