Job summary

Care Dorset Limited is seeking an enthusiastic activity coordinator to support the delivery of a range of activities in residential and day care settings. You will help run individual and group programmes, contribute to care plans, and assist with personal care when needed.

The role involves organising activities reflective of residents' wishes, supporting volunteers, and maintaining records. A proactive, compassionate approach is essential, with opportunities for training and progression.

Qualifications

• Good awareness of legislation
• Basic knowledge of health and safety
• Awareness of anti-discriminatory practice/attitudes
• Some experience of working in a caring or community setting
• Experience of planning and organising activities
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Good organisation skills
• Ability to contribute to group work
• Ability to contribute to the development and implementation of care plans/reviews
• Information sharing

Responsibilities

• Support the Manager and care staff in arranging and delivering activities to various service user groups in residential or day care settings
• Develop activities reflecting service users wishes and needs as assessed by staff to meet care plan goals
• Run and supervise individual and group activity programmes
• Maintain service user records and contribute to other establishment records
• Provide personal care to service users as required
• Oversee volunteers
• Contribute to care plan development and reviews for social and mental stimulation
• Organise group and individual activity programmes and conduct risk assessments for planned activities
• Participate in staff meetings and undertake training
• Undertake other duties of a comparable nature as required
