Job summary

Aboriginal Health Worker/Practitioner, Primary Care - TFT up to 30.June.2027 - Bathurst, is a temporary full-time role within the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network. It focuses on culturally safe care for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in a multidisciplinary setting at Bathurst Correctional Centre.

The position requires Aboriginal health qualifications, registration with AHPRA, and a willingness to travel; salary ranges from $69,410 to $90,357 per year plus super.

Qualifications

• Aboriginal Health Practitioner: Holds a Certificate IV in Aboriginal Primary Health Care (Practice) and is registered with the AHPRA.
• Aboriginal Health Worker: Holds or aspires to hold a minimum Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal Primary Health Care. Willing to transition to an Aboriginal Health Practitioner after completion and registration with AHPRA.
• Eligible to drive in NSW and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide flexible, holistic, and culturally sensitive health care services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
• Focus on prevention and management of chronic disease for Aboriginal clients.
• Collaborate with nursing, Integrated Care Service, health professionals, Corrective Services NSW, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations and others to ensure seamless care.
