About Happy Paws Happy Hearts

At Happy Paws Happy Hearts (HPHH), we don’t just come to work. We come to make a difference in the lives of people and animals. We’re a national not-for-profit connecting socially isolated Australians with animals through programs that build confidence, connection and hope for the future.

From Darwin to Tasmania - the ears to the tail of Australia - we support participants with disability and neurodiversity, veterans and first responders, and young people at risk. Working in partnership with animal rescue shelters and training centres such as the RSPCA, participants gain structured, hands-on experience training, socialising and caring for rescue animals on their journey to adoption and assistance dogs in training. Along the way, they grow independence, social connection and the practical skills to step into, or return to, a vocational pathway.

We offer a supportive workplace where everyone is valued for the difference they make. At HPHH, every interaction creates impact, for hearts and paws alike.

About the role

As our Outcomes and Evaluation Analyst, you’ll develop and lead the evaluation systems that demonstrate the difference our programs make. Working closely with our Partnerships team, you’ll analyse data from across HPHH, report on outcomes to our grant partners and funders, and turn evaluation insights into real improvements for the people and animals we support.

Based at our Wacol (Brisbane) site, this newly created role supports grant reporting across all current and emerging HPHH locations nationwide. The role is part time, FTE0.6 with room to grow to 0.8 FTE in the future.

In this role, you’ll:

Measure, monitor and report on HPHH’s strategic impact, developing and coordinating impact measurement and evaluation tools

Oversee and continuously improve HPHH’s Evaluation Framework, mapping and analysing datasets, identifying trends and recommending improvements

Prepare clear, compelling reports to government and other funding bodies, in line with evolving grant requirements

Accurately enter and manage grant data in our CRM and reporting portals, including Triangle (Outcome Stars) and develop longitudinal case studies and the wider community sector’s impact

Coordinate reporting and acquittal activities, including tracking contractual deliverables and data requirements

Work with internal and external stakeholders to design outcomes frameworks and support partnership activities, communication and events

What you’ll bring

Demonstrated experience conducting program or project evaluations and developing outcomes measurement and reporting frameworks

Experience analysing quantitative and qualitative data, and translating insights into program improvements

Proven ability to prepare clear and compelling impact reports, including loading and generating reports in data portals and CRMs

Experience using research methodology to develop policy, process and improved outcomes

Excellent writing and editing skills, with the attention to detail to produce documents to a publishable standard

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the diplomacy and emotional intelligence to work with a wide range of people, including culturally and neurodiverse stakeholders

A creative, strategic and analytical thinker who can juggle multiple deadlines, working both independently and as part of a team

An understanding of social enterprises and the community sector

A current (or ability to obtain) NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check (Blue Card)

It would be great if you also have:

Experience in a not for profit or campaign focused organisation, including working with volunteers

Experience reporting to government or funders through data portals (familiarity with DEX or similar will be highly regarded)

An understanding of best practice in grant making

Tertiary qualifications in research and evaluation or public administration, or equivalent experience

We are more than a workplace. We are a fast-growing movement driven by heart.

As a valued team member at HPHH, you will experience:

A culture led by heart, grounded in real connection, where our people genuinely care for one another and the mission we all work towards.

Work with purpose and impact. See the tangible difference you make each day at an organisation recognised for its innovative and impact-driven work.

Growth that celebrates individuality. From learning on the ground from each other’s strengths and experience to ongoing learning and development opportunities.

Leadership that listens. Our leaders are guided by our values and are approachable, contributing on the ground and building an environment where everyone can thrive.

Wellness initiatives and our Employee Assistance Program
