Job summary

The Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (DTMI) is seeking an experienced leader to head the Identity and Access Section, driving secure IAM, systems integration and data governance across WA’s transport systems.

You will manage a team of specialists, engage with stakeholders and external partners, and deliver practical, governance-aligned technical solutions while maintaining system integrity and performance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading operational or technical teams within a large and complex organisation.
• Strong understanding of business systems, data governance, identity and access management, or systems integration principles.
• Ability to analyse complex business and technical issues and translate findings into practical solutions and improvements.
• Excellent relationship management skills, with the confidence to influence, negotiate and collaborate across multiple stakeholder groups.
• Experience overseeing data integrity, reporting and information management activities to support business outcomes.
• Strong planning and organisational skills, with a track record of managing priorities and delivering results in a dynamic environment.
• A people-focused leadership style that motivates teams, builds capability and fosters a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Identity and Access Section, ensuring security, integrity and performance of key interfaces.
• Lead a team of technical specialists and investigate and resolve complex system interface issues.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and external partners to deliver reliable system outcomes.
