Job summary

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District is seeking a Staff Specialist in Intensive Care Medicine at Nepean Hospital. The appointee will join a nine-person ICU team with rostered clinical duties and dedicated non-clinical time for teaching, supervision, QA and research.

The role requires eligible or registered AHPRA clinicians, CICM Fellowship or equivalent, and an advanced echocardiography qualification. Opportunities for credentialing across facilities exist within the district.

Qualifications

• Registered or eligible with AHPRA for practice in NSW.
• Fellowship CICM and/or equivalent specialist recognition.
• Knowledge of Health Insurance Act 1997 and Staff Specialists (State) Award.
• Strong clinical expertise in Intensive Care Medicine with team-based care.
• Advanced echocardiography qualification for transthoracic and transesophageal use.

Responsibilities

• Clinical workload allocated by roster across the unit.
• On-call frequency approximately 1 in 8.
• Non-clinical time for admin, teaching, supervision, QA and research.
• Potential credentialing across Nepean Blue Mountains LHD facilities.
• Adherence to NSW Health Code of Conduct and safety standards.
