Job summary

Westmead Hospital's Intensive Care Unit is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Temporary Full Time position up to 15 August 2027. Join a busy, collaborative quaternary ICU team focused on complex patient care and ongoing professional development.

As part of a multidisciplinary unit, you’ll provide safe, person-centred nursing, coordinate care across shifts and use health information systems. Current AHPRA registration and ICU or acute-care experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Current authority to practise as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Recent Intensive Care experience, or relevant acute/critical-care experience.
• Ability to work a rotating 7-day roster.
• Strong interpersonal, organisational and time-management skills.
• Computer literacy and confidence using health information systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, person-centred and evidence-informed nursing care in ICU.
• Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate nursing care for patients with complex needs.
• Coordinate and prioritise clinical care across a busy service.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and multidisciplinary team.
• Document assessments and referrals using clinical information systems.
