Job summary
Join the 24/7 UQ VETS Small Animal Hospital at Gatton as an Urgent Care Veterinary Nurse. You’ll provide skilled, compassionate nursing across emergency, ICU, isolation and wards, working with veterinarians, specialists and students to deliver outstanding patient care.
The role involves teaching, client service and hospital operations, with a roster including mornings, afternoons and nights. Pre-employment immunisations and a radiation licence are part of the process.
Qualifications
- Certificate or degree in veterinary nursing with relevant experience.
- Two years of veterinary nursing experience or equivalent.
- Ability to maintain high nursing standards in hospital environments.
Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor and treat patients in ICU, isolation and wards.
- Assist veterinarians during emergencies and advanced imaging.
- Care for instruments and equipment and update SOPs.
- Provide teaching support for students and clients; support administration.
