Job summary
UQ VETS Gatton Campus is seeking an Urgent Care Veterinary Nurse to provide skilled, compassionate nursing across emergency, ICU, isolation and hospital wards, working with veterinarians, specialists and students.
This is a full-time, permanent role with a rotating roster including mornings, afternoons and nights; take-home salary reflects roster loadings and 17% super. The position supports teaching, ongoing professional development and a collaborative clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or relevant degree.
- Two years veterinary nursing experience or equivalent.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Current radiation licence or ability to apply for one.
Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor and treat patients in ICU, isolation and hospital wards.
- Support veterinarians during emergency procedures and advanced imaging.
- Care for instruments and equipment; follow nursing SOPs.
- Provide clinical teaching support and assist with hospital administration; participate in rotating roster.
