Job Description

We are seeking a technically skilled ICT Systems Test Engineer to conduct structured testing, diagnosis and validation of ICT systems, applications, hardware and network-connected devices. The role is responsible for developing and applying testing procedures, test cases and test scripts to assess system functionality, performance, reliability, compatibility and integrity against specified technical and operational requirements. The position involves testing and validating VPN applications, POS systems, inventory management applications, computers, mobile devices, networking equipment and other business systems. The role will also investigate system faults, perform diagnostic and regression testing following changes or corrective actions, document testing results and defects, and recommend appropriate technical solutions. The ICT Systems Test Engineer will work closely with Corporate and Commercial customers and their Technology teams, provide technical guidance to internal staff, and maintain accurate system testing and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute system and application test plans, test procedures, test cases and test scripts to verify functionality, performance, reliability, compatibility and compliance with specified requirements.
• Conduct functional, system and regression testing to identify, diagnose and document system faults, defects and performance issues, and verify corrective actions following system changes or remediation.
• Configure and validate VPN applications and associated network systems, and conduct connectivity, functionality and compatibility testing against specified customer and system requirements.
• Diagnose hardware and peripheral-related system faults through systematic testing and troubleshooting, and validate system functionality following corrective actions or component replacement.
• Configure and adapt existing applications, software and hardware to meet specified operational and customer requirements, followed by functional and compatibility testing to verify system performance and integrity.
• Investigate reported hardware, software and system issues, perform diagnostic testing to identify root causes, and recommend appropriate technical solutions and corrective actions.
• Perform functional testing, validation and troubleshooting of POS, Spatula and inventory management applications to verify system behaviour and ensure applications operate according to specified requirements.
• Perform system validation and regression testing following software releases, hardware upgrades, configuration changes or component replacement to verify compatibility, stability and performance.
• Configure email and POS user accounts and perform access, functionality and system validation testing to confirm correct operation and compliance with defined system requirements.
• Identify and document defects, testing outcomes, expected and actual system behaviour, corrective actions and subsequent validation results.
• Provide technical guidance and training to team members on system functionality, testing procedures, troubleshooting processes and the implementation and release of new products or services.
• Prepare and maintain technical reports, testing documentation, system configuration records, fault reports and related technical information.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related ICT discipline.
• Minimum one year of relevant professional experience in systems testing, ICT systems support, application testing or a closely related ICT role.
• Demonstrated experience in system and application testing, fault diagnosis, troubleshooting and technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of hardware, software, networking, VPNs and business applications.
• Ability to prepare and execute test cases, testing procedures and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with Corporate and Commercial customers and Technology teams.
