Job description

About The Shoe Group

The Shoe Group is an Australian retail group supporting a portfolio of footwear brands and a national network of stores, alongside our Support Centres, Distribution Centre and growing digital operations.

Technology supports every part of our Group – from our retail stores and eCommerce platforms through to merchandise, supply chain, warehousing and corporate operations

We are looking for an experienced ICT Manager to lead the day-to-day delivery of technology services across the Group and ensure our systems, applications and technology environment continue to support our people, customers and future growth.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Group Chief Information Officer, based in Melbourne, the ICT Manager is a senior technology leadership role responsible for the effective delivery of ICT services and projects across The Shoe Group.

Based at our Gillman Support Centre in Adelaide, you will provide on-the-ground leadership to our technology function while working closely with the Group CIO to deliver the broader technology strategy and priorities.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring someone who can balance operational delivery with projects and continuous improvement – leading people, managing technology partners and ensuring our technology environment remains secure, reliable, efficient and commercially effective.

What You'll Be Responsible For
  • Lead the day-to-day delivery of ICT services across The Shoe Group.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Adelaide-based ICT team.
  • Partner with the Group CIO to deliver agreed technology strategy, priorities and projects.
  • Work with leaders across the Group to understand and prioritise technology requirements.
  • Oversee ICT operations, infrastructure, applications and support services.
  • Ensure systems and technology services remain secure, reliable and appropriate for a national retail environment.
  • Lead and coordinate technology projects from planning through to successful delivery.
  • Maintain strong governance and accountability across ICT projects, resources, costs and outcomes.
  • Ensure BAU services are maintained while balancing strategic projects and changing business priorities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, service delivery and technology capability.
  • Manage technology risks and ensure appropriate business continuity and team coverage.
  • Build and manage effective relationships with external technology providers and vendors.
  • Coach and develop ICT team members and build capability across critical systems and services.
  • Manage ICT expenditure and resources within approved budgets and delegated authority.

The existing role has a strong focus on maintaining BAU while delivering concurrent projects, managing operational capability and ensuring appropriate technology coverage across the organisation.

About You

You'll be an experienced ICT leader who is equally comfortable leading people, working with senior stakeholders and getting close to operational technology issues.

Ideally, You'll Bring
  • Significant experience in an ICT Manager, IT Manager or similar technology leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technology teams within a complex, multi-site organisation.
  • Broad experience across ICT operations, infrastructure, applications and project delivery.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and changing priorities.
  • Strong commercial judgement with the ability to balance technology outcomes, cost, risk and operational requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills.
  • Strong vendor and technology-partner management capability.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching and developing technology professionals.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or equivalent practical experience.
  • Project management qualifications or demonstrated project leadership experience will be highly regarded.
  • Experience across retail, ERP, eCommerce and/or warehousing systems will be particularly advantageous.
Why Join The Shoe Group?

This is an opportunity to take on a broad ICT leadership role supporting a national retail Group, while being the senior technology presence on the ground at our Adelaide Support Centre.

You’ll work closely with our Group CIO and senior leaders across the business, with exposure to technology across retail stores, eCommerce, supply chain, warehousing and corporate operations.

For someone who enjoys being close to the business and their team, this role offers a strong combination of people leadership, operational ICT, project delivery and continuous improvement.

Ready to Join Us?

If you're an experienced ICT leader who enjoys building capable teams, solving business problems and delivering reliable technology in a fast-moving environment, we'd love to hear from you.
