Job summary

Charterhouse is seeking an experienced IAM Security Architect to define the target-state CIAM/IAM architecture and roadmaps. You will lead customer identity design and ensure security, scalability, and regulatory alignment across PAM, PIM and Identity Governance.

You will work with Cyber Security, Enterprise Architecture and business teams to translate strategy into practical identity solutions using Microsoft Entra ID and related ecosystems.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Security/IAM Architect in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong CIAM experience essential.
• Deep understanding of IAM architecture and identity lifecycle management.
• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and the Microsoft identity ecosystem.
• Experience in Identity Governance, PAM and PIM.
• Ability to translate requirements into practical identity solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop target-state architecture and roadmaps across CIAM, IAM, Identity Governance, PAM and PIM.
• Lead the architecture and design of customer identity capabilities, ensuring security, scalability, usability and regulatory requirements are considered.
• Develop architecture patterns and standards across Microsoft Entra ID and the broader Microsoft identity ecosystem.
• Provide technical leadership across Identity Governance, Privileged Access Management and Privileged Identity Management.
• Translate cyber security strategy and business requirements into practical identity architecture and technology solutions.
• Work closely with engineering and delivery teams to ensure solutions align with the target-state architecture.
• Engage with senior stakeholders across Cyber Security, Enterprise Architecture, Technology and business functions.
• Contribute to the ongoing evolution and delivery of a multi-year Cyber Security Uplift Program.

IAM Security Architect – CIAM
Sydney | Hybrid | Initial 12-Month Fixed Term Contract

A leading Australian organisation is seeking an experienced IAM Security Architect with strong Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) experience to join a significant, multi-year Cyber Security Uplift Program.

This is a key architecture role responsible for defining and delivering the target-state identity security architecture across CIAM, IAM, Identity Governance, Privileged Access Management (PAM) and Privileged Identity Management (PIM).

You will work closely with Cyber Security, Enterprise Architecture, Technology and business stakeholders to establish secure, scalable and pragmatic identity capabilities that support the organisation's long-term cyber strategy.

The Role

About You

You will be an experienced IAM / Security Architect with a strong background across Identity and Access Management and proven experience designing and delivering CIAM solutions.

You will ideally bring:

• Significant experience as a Security Architect, IAM Architect or Identity Architect within complex enterprise environments.
• Strong and demonstrable CIAM experience – essential.
• Deep understanding of IAM architecture, identity lifecycle management and authentication / authorisation patterns.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Entra ID and the Microsoft identity ecosystem.
• Experience designing and delivering Identity Governance, PAM and PIM capabilities.
• Experience developing target-state architecture, reference architectures and technology roadmaps.
• Strong understanding of modern authentication, federation, MFA, SSO, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and related identity standards.
• Ability to work across architecture, engineering and delivery teams and translate complex technical requirements into practical solutions.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and senior business stakeholders.
